Dietz named Assistant Fire Chief for Toccoa

Frankie Dietz has been named Assistant Fire Chief for the Toccoa Fire Department.

City Manager Billy Morse made the announcement late last week, saying that effective Feb. 4, Dietz will be the new Assistant Fire Chief.

Dietz has been with the Toccoa Fire Department for twenty-one years.

He has worked his way through the ranks beginning as a Firefighter in 1996.

He was promoted to Lieutenant in 2002 and has been a Captain for three years.

For 21 years, Dietz has served as the Assistant Fire Chief for Shiloh Volunteer Fire Department.

Captain Dietz brings with him extensive training, he also has received a number of Certifications from the Georgia Public Safety Training Center and holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Secondary Education from Toccoa Falls College.

Fire Chief Haslup told WNEG News that Dietz, being selected, continues the fire departments tradition of excellence in choosing highly trained and experienced individuals to serve the Department and the Citizens of Toccoa.

City Manager Morse issued a press release expressing his confidence in Dietz ability to do an outstanding job for the City as Assistant Fire Chief.
