District Attorney Seeking Death Penalty for Prison Escapees

The District Attorney prosecuting the case against two escaped inmates said he will seek the death penalty for both suspects.
Ricky Dubose, who is from Comer in Madison County, and Donnie Russell Rowe had a court appearance Wednesday morning in Putnam County Superior Court.
Stephen Bradley is the District Attorney for the eight-county Ocmulgee Judicial Circuit.
Bradley told the Judge he intends to seek the death penalty, according to a report by the Atlanta-Journal Constitution.
DuBose and Rowe overpowered and killed two prison guards early on the morning of June 13 and escaped a prison bus in Putnam County.
After a three-day manhunt, the pair were caught by a homeowner in Tennessee trying to steal his car.
The homeowner held the men at gunpoint until law enforcement arrived and took them into custody.
Dubose and Rowe are being charged with two counts of murder and one count each of escape and hijacking a motor vehicle.
They were denied bond on Wednesday.
