Georgia DOT Commissioner Russell McMurry recently announced that Natasha Davis was honored at this year’s District Employee Appreciation Day with the 2015 State Community Service Award for her personal dedication to improve her community and the engineering profession.

Davis began her career with the Department of Transportation in 2007 working in the Construction Division. She served as Construction Project Manager on several projects, most recently the Highway 17 widening in Stephens and Franklin Counties. She now serves District One as Assistant Maintenance Contracts Manager.

McMurry says that Natasha Davis lives out her commitment to “community service” daily.

He says she especially enjoys helping students improve their understanding and career options of the STEM fields – science, technology, engineering and mathematics.

According to the DOT, Davis helps students through one on one tutoring, works with girls enrolled in the ‘We do Math’ Summer Camp at Clemson University, and served as a Counselor for Middle School Girls in ‘Project WISE’ through Clemson’s Women in Science and Engineering Office.

Also, along with a friend, Natasha provides an annual $1,000 scholarship to a student from their High School and serves as a Student Advisor at her Church.
