Drug Arrest in Habersham Results in 3 Arrests

On Tuesday, the Habersham County Sheriff’s Office, the White County Sheriff’s Office, the Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement Office and the Georgia Department of Corrections K9 unit executed search warrants at 530 Twin River Orchard Road, Demorest, Georgia and Highway 4172 Highway 255S, Cleveland, Georgia.

The search warrants and subsequent arrests were the result of an 18 month investigation in response to several heroin related overdose incidents in Habersham, White and Banks counties. The searches yielded a large quantity of heroin valued at $7,000.  

The investigation targeted a large scale heroin trafficking organization operated by Michelle Dawn “Cinnamon” Dorsey. The investigation revealed that the group is responsible for trafficking pounds of heroin valued at nearly $100,000 in and around the Habersham County area.

45-year-old Michelle Dawn Dorsey, of Demorest, Georgia was arrested and charged with Trafficking heroin.

28-year-old Nigel Alan Waddell, of Cornelia, Georgia was arrested and charged with Trafficking heroin and possession of marijuana.

26-year-old Tyler Josiah “Big un” Matthews, of Cleveland, Georgia was arrested and charged with Trafficking heroin.
All three individuals were transported to the Habersham County Detention Center by the Habersham County Sheriff’s Office. The investigation continues.
