Early Voting Ends Today

Those who have not voted early yet in the Presidential Preference Primary have just today to do so.

Today is the final day for early voting for Tuesday’s Presidential Preference Primary.

Stephens County Registrar Bill Cochran said polls will be open all day today in Stephens County.

“Early voting ends today at 5 p.m.,” said Cochran.

Early voting in Stephens County is taking place at the Stephens County Registrar’s Office, which is located in the Stephens County Courthouse Annex on Tugalo Street.

Cochran said early voting has been very popular over the last three weeks.

“So far, we have had exceptional turnout,” said Cochran. “As of 3 p.m. Thursday, we were over 1500 voters that had come in for early voting.”

Voters will need a picture ID and will have to choose whether to vote in the Democratic or the Republican primary.

Those who do not vote early today will have to wait until Tuesday to vote.

Voting on Tuesday will be from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Stephens County Senior Center.

Meanwhile, today is also the last day that the Registrar’s Office can mail out a paper, mail-in absentee ballot.

Those ballots must be turned back in by the end of the day on Election Day, March 1.
