First Responders Called To Pool Monday

A child is reportedly recovering after a scare at the Doyle Street Pool on Monday.

First responders were called to the pool during the early afternoon hours on Monday after a child swimmer was reported to be in distress.

According to Camp Fire CEO Elaine Brinkley, a child at the pool had to be rescued from the water by one of the on-duty lifeguards.

Brinkley said that CPR had to be performed on the child and the child was resuscitated, adding that when first responders arrived, the child was conscious and breathing.

She credited quick action by the lifeguards on duty for the ending turning out the way it did.

“I am just proud of the way they responded,” said Brinkley. “They have been well trained and we have a great group of lifeguards and they did exactly what they were trained to do.”

The child was taken to the hospital for treatment, but Brinkley said the child was recovering.
