Four Month Investigation Leads To Drug Arrest in Stephens Co.

A four-month investigation leads to a drug arrest in Stephens County.

The Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement Office said that 64-year-old Michael Roberts of Toccoa was arrested Monday and will be charged with Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute, Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, Possession of a Firearm in the Commission of a Felony, and Possession of a Schedule Two Substance with Intent To Distribute.

According to the Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement Office, its agents and deputies from the Stephens County Sheriff’s Office acted Monday on multiple tips received from the community and initiated a search warrant on the 5000 block of Talmadge Drive in Toccoa.

Authorities said the investigation resulted in the seizure of about 1/4 pound of high-grade marijuana packaged for sale and quantities of Schedule Two pharmaceuticals also packaged for distribution.

They estimated the street value of the seized contraband at $4,000.

Agents also seized two firearms.

According to authorities, this investigation is continuing.
