G-DOT prepared for Winter storms

The Georgia Department of Transportation is preparing its fleet of trucks and other equipment for impending winter weather.

G-DOT is boosting its supply of salt and is purchasing new road equipment in the event of a winter storm.

G-DOT spokesperson Katie Strickland says they are prepared should Old Man Winter come calling.

Temperatures are expected to dip into the 20’s Friday night as a cold front moves through and forecasters are predicting a wintery mix for the mountains.

Still, the overall prediction is for this winter season to be warmer and drier than normal as a La Nina effect settles over the Southeast.

But if there is a winter storm, Strickland says G-DOT is prepared.
