GA Dept. of Labor Releases April’s Unemployment Rates for GA Mountains Region

The Georgia Department of Labor released unemployment rates for the Georgia Mountains Region for April and they are unchanged from March to April at 4.1 percent.

Although the rate was unchanged for the month of April, more people became employed and the labor force grew.

1,032 more Georgia Mountains area residents were employed in April than in March, making the total number 320,849.

The number of claims for unemployment insurance also rose by 16.2 percent, with most of that increase coming from manufacturing.
