GSP Releases Details of Saturday Wreck That Injured Two Children

The Georgia State Patrol has released details on this weekend’s accident in Stephens County that led to two children being airlifted with injuries.

Troopers released the accident report on Tuesday.

In it, the GSP said 35-year-old Corey Lane Brodsky of Iva, South Carolina was driving the 2014 Jeep Patriot that was involved in the single-vehicle accident that occurred at 9:36 p.m. Saturday on U.S. Highway 123, or Georgia Highway 365, just west of Red Rock Road.

The report stated that Brodsky’s Jeep was traveling westbound when the right side tires went on to the shoulder of the road.

Authorities said the right rear tire began to travel down the embankment, which caused the vehicle to rotate counter-clockwise.

The GSP said at that point, the right side front end struck a culvert and the Jeep crossed a private drive and came to an uncontrolled final rest.

Troopers said Brodsky suffered a minor injury but was not transported.

However, authorities said that two children in the vehicle, listed as 8-year-old Addisyn Brodsky and 10-year-old Alane Brodsky, were both airlifted to Greenville Memorial Hospital for treatment of injuries.

According to troopers, Brodsky was charged with Driving Under the Influence, two counts of DUI Child Endangerment, Failure to Maintain Lane, and Possession of an Open Container in Vehicle Passenger Area.
