A Habersham County couple is behind bars, charged with being part of a methamphetamine drug trafficking ring.
Mitchell Posey with the Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement Office told WNEG News the ring operated in both Habersham County and Gwinnett County.
36-year-old Jennifer Bone of Demorest and 34-year-old Ronald Jones of Cornelia were arrested June 15 after a lengthy surveillance operation.
Posey said the pair was arrested and charged with trafficking meth at the Circle K convenience store in Hollywood, GA.
According to Posey, Habersham County Sheriff’s deputies found a bag in the couple’s car containing 56 grams of meth, that they were selling to 40-year-old Tonya Loudermilk of Duluth.
That prompted Gwinnett County authorities to obtain a search warrant for Loudermilk’s residence on Satellite Blvd. and discovered another person identified as 40-year-old Derek Lynn Cagley attempting to flush two kilograms of meth down the toilet.
They also discovered about $20,000 in cash in Loudermilk’s apartment, according to Posey.
Bone and Jones were arrested for trafficking methamphetamine and transported to the Habersham County Detention Center.
Cagley was arrested for trafficking methamphetamine and transported to the Gwinnett County Detention Center.
Loudermilk is a fugitive and is currently wanted for trafficking methamphetamine in Habersham and Gwinnett Counties.
