Habersham Fires Ruled Arson

Fire Investigators with Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner Ralph Hudgens’ office have ruled two separate fires on Thursday in Habersham County as arson.

Commissioner Hudgens’ office said that the fires, which occurred at around 4:30 p.m. Thursday, caused moderate damage to a site built home and minor damage to a mobile home located at 235 Hollywood Canyon Road in Clarksville.

Both incidents were reported to the 911 Center by the property owner who discovered the fires when she returned home from work.

Commissioner Hudgens is asking anyone with information about these fires to call the Arson Hotline at 1-800-282-5804.

Rewards of up to $10,000 are given for information leading to the arrest and conviction of an arsonist.

Calls are taken 24 hours a day; callers can choose to remain anonymous.

Hudgens’ Fire Investigation Unit is being assisted in the investigation by the Habersham County Fire Department.
