Habersham Man Sentenced in Child Molestation Case

A Habersham County man is sentenced to life in prison after his conviction last week on aggravated child molestation and aggravated sexual battery charges.

Monday, Mountain Judicial Circuit Superior Court Judge Chan Caudell sentenced 68-year-old David Michael Dixon of Habersham County to life in prison on the charges of Aggravated Child Molestation and Aggravated Sexual Battery.

Those life sentences are consecutive.

In addition, Dixon received 20 years consecutive on a charge of Child Molestation, and five years on a charge of Sexual Battery.

Dixon was convicted on the charges Friday in a Habersham County courtroom after a trial that began last Tuesday.

Assistant District Attorneys Meredith Davis and Ben Green presented the case on behalf of the State and the case was investigated by the Habersham County Sheriff’s Office.

Mountain Judicial Circuit District Attorney George Christian said his office would like to thank the Power House for Kids for its assistance in prosecuting the case.
