Hartwell to Host Antique Boat Show and Festival

If you are a lover of all things boats and boating, you will want to head over to Hartwell this weekend for the 27th Annual Antique Boat Show and Festival.

Sponsored by the Blue Ridge Chapter of the Antique and Classic Boat Society, the boat show takes place Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Hartwell Marina.

Past Chapter President Gary Fesperman said over 49 antique boats will be docked at the Marina for visitors to come see and enjoy.

One of the boats, Fesperman said, is one of the original racing speed boats, Miss America 9.

Fesperman said the boat is stored now at the Hartwell Marina but the owner lives in Hilton Head.

Another notable antique boat that will be on display this weekend is one that was originally owned by Country Music Hall of Fame singer Alan Jackson.

In addition to the Antique Boat Show, there will also be a classic car show, along with craft booths, live entertainment and lots of good food.

Again, the Antique Boat Show takes place Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.at the Hartwell Marina in Hartwell.
Admission is free.
