Hurricane Supplies Collected Tonight

For the past three weeks, the P230 Ministries in partnership with Quality Foods, of Toccoa, has been collecting supplies to aid in Hurricane Harvey relief efforts.

The group is currently filling a truck with five gallon buckets filled with cleaning supplies, which can be purchased at Quality Foods for $10; however, during the Stephens County football game tonight, there will be a booth set up where everyone is being asked to bring a bottle of laundry detergent to donate.

Founder Steve Paysen told WNEG Wednesday there is a severe need for cleaning supplies.

Paysen says since the campaign began they’ve already collected over 500 buckets and other donations.

Tonight, after the football game, the truck will head towards Friendswood, Texas.

The Sheriff’s Department along with Adams Building Supplies, have also participated in the relief efforts through providing push brooms and flat shovels for the clean-up process.

P230 Ministries plans to also aid in Hurricane Irma relief efforts in Ft. Myers, Florida after it makes its initial delivery to Texas.

They will be collecting water, bleach, and buckets of cleaning supplies.

According to Paysen, plans are also in the works to send down construction crews to help with the rebuilding.
