Indian Baseball Tames Wildcats

The Stephens County Indians defeated the Rabun County Wildcats 10-6 in a back-and-forth baseball affair at the Reservation Thursday.

In the early innings, both teams traded the lead.

However, Stephens County sent eight men to the plate and took the lead for good in the fifth inning, scoring four runs.

Bryson Fowler and Cole Beitzel each had two RBIs in the game, while Kooper Briley and Kole Rogers each drove in a run.

Dawson Sorrells picked up his fourth win of the season on the mound for Stephens County, pitching in relief of starter Chaz Bridges.

Stephens County is now 6-1 on the season.

The Indians play a home doubleheader on Saturday, facing Chestatee at 12 p.m. and Hart County at 5 p.m.
