Indian Basketball Sweeps Madison County

Both the Stephens County Indians and Lady Indians came away with victories Tuesday night over Madison County in Varsity Basketball action at the Currahee Arena.

The Stephens County Boys extended their win streak to 4 games with a 55 to 37 victory.

After Madison County cut an early 14 point lead down to 5 at halftime, Stephens County outscored the Red Raiders 16 to 7 in the third period.

Nunu Walker led the Indians with 21 points.

Stephens County has now won 4 in a row to even their overall record at 4 & 4.

In girls action, Stephens County broke a 4-game losing streak by defeating the Lady Red Raiders, 45 to 38.

Lexie Cash had all 10 of her points in the second half to led the Lady Indians, followed closely by Mya Cleveland with 9.

After a close 3-point lead at the end of three periods, Stephens County held Madison to just 4 points in the final period.

Stephens County improves to 3 & 5 overall.

Stephens County’s next game will be this Saturday on the road at Habersham Central.
