Lady Indian Softball Wins Fifth Straight

Make it five in a row for the Stephens County High School Lady Indian softball team.

Tuesday, the Lady Indian softball team picked up another non-region win, beating Franklin County 6-1 at the Reservation in Toccoa.

Alana Dunson had a double, an RBI, and scored two runs to lead the Lady Indians offensively.

Peyton Terrell added a double with an RBI as well.

On the mound, Emma Whitfield again picked up the win, pitching a complete game and scattering four hits and one run, while striking out seven.

The Lady Indians are now 5-0 on the season heading into the opening game of Region 8-AAAA play.

On Thursday, the Lady Indians will open region softball play against Oconee County at the Reservation.

Both the JV and varsity teams will be in action.

The schedule calls for the JV to play at 4:30 p.m. and the varsity to play at 5:55 p.m. on Thursday.
