Lady Indians No Hit St. Pius

Emma Whitfield threw a no hitter as Stephens County defeated St. Pius on Senior Night 8 to 0 on Thursday in high school softball. Whitfield faced 18 batters. Only a hit baseman kept her from a perfect game. Whitfield struck out 9 and walked none.

The Lady Indians scored their first 3 runs on a single by Kayley Sellers in the first inning with two outs.  Stephens County scored three more runs in the sixth inning on singles by Natalie Morgan and Jasmine Lowery.  Stephens County had 11 hits in the game.  Lowery, Kataryna Fuller, and Alanna Dunson each collected multiple hits for the Lady Indians.

Stephens County’s record improves to 13-4 overall and 6-2 in Region 8-AAAA.  The Lady Indians are back in action Tuesday as they travel to Jefferson—game time will be at 5:55pm.
