Little League Update

Multiple Toccoa All-Star Little League teams are in the midst of state tournament play this week.

Three teams kicked off state tourney play over the weekend.

First in Junior League softball, Toccoa won the first game of a best-of-three series against Pioneer Little League 9-4 Saturday in East Athens.

These two teams are the only two playing for the state title in Junior League softball.

The second game was set for Sunday and Toccoa won 11-8 to move on to the Southeast Region Tournament in Fort Myers, Florida.

Meanwhile in Columbus, the Toccoa 11 and 12-year-old softball team won its opening game at the state tournament by a 10-1 score over Bartow County.

MacKenzie Rogers pitched a complete game while Natalie Morgan hit a grand slam to pace the offense.

The Toccoa 11-12 softball team returns to action tonight at 7:30 p.m. against Dudley Little League.

Moving to baseball, the Toccoa 10 and 11-year-old All-Stars lost their opening game in the state tournament in Peachtree City to Dudley Little League 17-4.

Toccoa’s 10-11 baseball team returns to action tonight against Cartersville and AM 630 WNEG will be there.

First pitch for tonight’s 10-11 state tourney baseball game between Toccoa and Cartersville is set for 6 p.m. and airtime on AM 630 WNEG and is set for 5:45 p.m.
