Local Business Receives Downtown Award

A state organization recognizes Toccoa and a local business.

During the recently held annual Awards Ceremony of the Georgia Downtown Conference, the Georgia Downtown Association awarded All Things Currahee and the Toccoa Downtown Development Authority with the Downtown Excellence-Small Business of the Year award.

The ceremony took place on March 9 in Athens.

As the premier event on downtown development and historic preservation in the state, the Georgia Downtown Conference promotes downtown and economic development through public awareness, governmental relations, and education.

Over 50 applications were received for this award.

Georgia Downtown Conference officials said that competition for this year’s awards was fierce but add that a few outstanding projects stood out among the nominations.

Those officials cited the dedication and hard work that has gone into opening All Things Currahee, a downtown business that showcases local artists.
