Local Students Represented at Show In Perry

Numerous Stephens County students recently represented the county in the National Junior Swine Association Southeast Regional and Winter Type Conference.

That event took place from January 26 through January 29 in Perry at the Georgia National Fairgrounds.

In all, 10 students participated in the event from Stephens County.

They were as follows:

Selah Baker

• Selah Baker-Pre-K at Big A; 7th place in Junior Duroc Gilt class

• Miley Miller-3rd grader at Toccoa Elementary; top 3 in heat of showmanship; 8th place in Junior Yorkshire Barrow class, and exhibited in Junior and Open Yorkshire Gilt shows, and the Crossbred Gilt show

• Katelynn Freeman-8th grader at SCMS; member of SCMS FFA; exhibited in the Junior Yorkshire Gilt class

• Lexi Holbrooks-7th grader at SCMS; member of SCMS FFA; 9th place in Junior Yorkshire Barrow class and exhibited in the Crossbred Barrow Show

• Rosemary Huff-Junior at SCHS; member of SCHS FFA; 9th place in Junior Duroc Gilt class

• Sarahbeth Huff-6th grader at SCMS; member of SCMS FFA; exhibited in the Junior Yorkshire and Crossbred Barrow Shows

Kole Kelley

• Kole Kelley-Junior at SCHS; member of SCHS FFA; 6th place overall in Intermediate Showmanship, 1st place in Junior Yorkshire Gilt Class and Reserve Division Champion, 1st place in Open Yorkshire Gilt Class and Reserve Champion Open Yorkshire Gilt, and 5th place in Junior Crossbred Gilt Show

• Lola Mateos- Senior at SCHS; member of SCHS FFA; 4th in Junior Hampshire Gilt class

• Isabella Payne-Freshman at SCHS; member of SCHS FFA; 8th in Crossbred Gilt class and exhibited in the Junior Hampshire Gilt Show

• Tucker Payne-Junior at SCHS; member of SCHS FFA; 10th in Crossbred Gilt class and exhibited in the Junior Hampshire Show
