Lt. Governor Cagle Working to Prioritize Rural Broadband

Lieutenant Governor Casey Cagle is working to prioritize broadband in rural communities.

According to Cagle, access to high-speed broadband is critical and he says that no Georgian in any area of the state can afford to miss the opportunities that technology provides.

Cagle believes that rural broadband is an economic, education and quality of life issue.

Cagle says that he and his team have done extensive studies through the Joint Study Committee on High Speed Broadband Communications Access for all Georgians to develop legislative solutions.

Cagle himself has done research to understand the ways that other communities in the state and nation have extended broadband infrastructure to include rural regions.

Last week, he met with an assembly of cable executives and visited local leaders to learn about other successful broadband initiatives.
