Lunch Honors Law Enforcement

IMG_0382With the anniversary of September 11th coming up this weekend, community leaders come together to thank local law enforcement.

On Tuesday, the Toccoa Rotary Club, in partnership with WNEG Radio, held a luncheon for local law enforcement from the Stephens County Sheriff’s Office and the Toccoa Police Department at the Rotary Club’s weekly meeting at Gate Cottage on the campus of Toccoa Falls College.

Toccoa Rotary Club President Tammy Riddle said that as the anniversary of 9-11 approaches, it gave them a chance to remember those who protect and serve the community in the law enforcement field.

“The Toccoa Rotary Club meets every Tuesday and this was a good opportunity to invite our local law enforcement out and just give them lunch and give them a small token of our appreciation,” said Riddle. “In this day and time, we just do not take for granted that they lay their lives on the line every day to protect us. It was just a good opportunity to show our appreciation and we are so thankful to have them.”

During the meeting, all of the law enforcement personnel in attendance were recognized.

Also, each was given a small gift by the Rotary Club thanking them for their service.
