Madison Co. Edges Lady Indian Softball

Stephens County drops its first softball game of the season.

Madison County traveled to the Reservation in Toccoa on Tuesday and beat the Lady Indians in a Region 8-AAAA game, 6-4.

Natalie Morgan led the Lady Indians at the plate, going 2 for 3 with an RBI and a run scored.

Meanwhile, Karly Smith had two hits and scored a run and Ivey Andrews was also 2 for 3.

On the mound, Emma Whitfield took the loss, allowed six runs in pitching a complete game. However, three of the runs were unearned.

For the game, Whitfield allowed seven hits and struck out six.

With the loss, the Lady Indians are now 6-1 overall on the season and 1-1 in the region.

Next up for the Lady Indian softball team is another home region game with St. Pius on Thursday at 5:15 p.m.
