Man Dies From Injuries Suffered in Franklin Co. Wreck

A motorcyclist has died from injuries received in an accident in Franklin County last week.

70-year-old Therion Lloyd Boyd of Hoschton was injured in a motorcycle accident last Wednesday, August 17, and passed away on Friday as a result of the injuries suffered in the accident.

The accident occurred at 10:50 a.m. on County Road 84 in Franklin County.

According to Georgia State Patrol Post 52 in Hartwell, Boyd lost control of his vehicle and the vehicle then fell on its right side, throwing Boyd from the vehicle.

Boyd retired from the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office after serving 11 years as a Training Instructor and founding member of the West Jackson Fire Department.

Before that, he had retired from the Gainesville Police Department after serving nearly 30 years, reaching the rank of Captain and Watch Commander.

Funeral services for Boyd were held on Monday in Hoschton.
