Martin Pastor Named Chaplain of Day in State Senate

A local pastor serves as the State Senate’s Chaplain of the Day.

50th District State Senator John Wilkinson and Lieutenant Governor Casey Cagle welcomed the Rev. Wayne Marcus of Tom’s Creek Baptist Church in Martin to serve as the Chaplain of the Day on Monday in the Georgia State Senate.

The Rev. Marcus has served at Tom’s Creek since 1998 after first serving at a church in Dalton as pastor for 5 1/2 years.

Senator Wilkinson said he was proud to have the Rev. Marcus join the State Senate in its Chamber Monday to deliver the daily devotion.

Wilkinson added that the Rev. Marcus’ life of service and commitment to the Lord serves a witness to all.

The Rev. Marcus is married to Tammy.  They have two daughters and three grandchildren.
