NGTC Announces Staff Changes

North Georgia Technical College is announcing some staff changes.

First, the Student Affairs staff at North Georgia Technical College has welcomed Arnold White as the newest team member.

White is filling the role of Career Placement & Development Director which opened when Daniel Gregg retired at the end of March.

His background includes experience in a variety of educational environments as well as corporate positions.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics from Western Carolina University, and a Masters in Interrelated Special Education from Georgia College in Milledgeville.

For the last several years, White, who resides in Stephens County, has become ingrained in the Habersham community as a teacher at North Habersham Middle School.

Meanwhile, the North Georgia Technical College Academic Affairs Department has appointed Leslie McFarlin of Franklin County as Dean for Academic Affairs beginning on July 1.

This is one of three Dean positions structured within that department.

McFarlin joined the North Georgia Technical College family in July 2007 as a Math instructor.

In 2009, she graciously agreed to lead the College in the Quality Enhancement Plan as required by the Southern Association of Schools and Colleges Commission on Colleges. Now, even as she took on the responsibilities of QEP Coordinator she continued her instruction in Math courses on both the Clarkesville and Currahee campuses.

In addition to those duties, McFarlin has volunteered to participate in a multitude of College initiatives such as Complete College Georgia and Achieving the Dream.

McFarlin is a graduate of Franklin County High School. She holds a B.A. in Middle Grades Mathematics from Emmanuel College and a Master of Arts in Mathematics Education from Piedmont College.
