Nine Killed On Ga. Highways Over Christmas

The Georgia Department of Public Safety said nine people were killed on Georgia highways during this past Christmas holiday weekend.

State officials released the final count on Monday.

This year’s Christmas travel period ran for 78 hours.

It started on Thursday at 6 p.m. and lasted through midnight on Sunday.

One of those traffic fatalities was reported in northeast Georgia by the Hartwell post of the Georgia State Patrol.
