North Georgia Tech Offering Scholarships for Fall Semester
Applications for scholarships at North Georgia Technical College are now being accepted.
The North Georgia Technical College Foundation provides scholarships for students with documented financial need.
Foundation scholarships assist with tuition, fees and required classroom equipment.
Foundation Director Cynthia Brown said at the beginning of Fall Semester, the Foundation awards several scholarships which are available to students enrolled in specific programs.
“These are awarded in the fall and are program-specific,” Brown explained. “These are scholarships that will hopefully entice people to enroll that might not consider coming to college because they think they don’t have the funds available.”
Brown said the scholarships help pay for tuition, fees, required equipment and books.
Applicants will need to demonstrate a financial need by filling out a VASA form.
Those scholarships include, an Agriculture Scholarship, the CHSGa LPN Scholarship for those interested in practical nursing, as well as the Dan Dixon Technical Career Award and the Fulbright Work Ethic Award for students enrolled in any technical trade program.
Other scholarships are available for students enrolled in the welding program, the RN program, criminal justice, electrical, machine works, and construction programs.
General scholarships that apply to any program are also available throughout the year.
Brown says this is a great way for anyone wanting to enroll in school to get the help they need so they can complete their education.
“We want students to come and get an education so they can be successful in life and have a career where they can feel comfortable and excel in their trade. We look forward to hearing from them,” Brown said.
Brown said the deadline to apply for all Foundation Scholarships is July 20th.
