Oconee Man Turned Over From Stephens Co. to S.C. Authorities

The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office booked 30-year-old Kristopher O’Neal Justus of West Union, South Carolina into the Oconee County Detention Center on Wednesday after picking him up from the Stephens County Jail.

Justus faces an outstanding warrant for Grand Larceny in Oconee County.

According to the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office, an investigator from its Criminal Investigations Division received word that a stolen truck had been recovered in Stephens County and that Justus had been arrested on August 7.

Authorities said Justus took a 1985 Dodge Ram pick-up truck from a victim at an address in West Union during the early morning hours of August 5.

A BOLO was issued to surrounding agencies and the truck was entered into the National Crime Information Center before the truck was located in Stephens County two days later.

As of last report, Justus remained in custody at the Oconee County, South Carolina Detention Center, awaiting a bond hearing.

Authorities said Justus also had an outstanding bench warrant from Walhalla Municipal Court.
