Old Cinema Building to Become 24-Hour Gym

A 24-hour gym is in the works at the old cinema building located at 3430 South Big A Road in Toccoa.

Co-owners Elizabeth Jordan and John Getty recently bought the property and Jordan said they are planning to turn it into a 24/7 fitness facility called Gym Nation.

“It’s the type of gym that will allow access to members any time, day or night,” said Jordan. “Every member that joins gets a key fob and will have 24/7 access to the facility. The name of the gym is Gym Nation and right now we’re working on renovations.”

According to Jordan, their goal is to share their passion for health with the community for all kinds of people.

“What our goal is is to share our passion for fitness and health,” said Jordan. “I want to be able to provide something so that it’s very inclusive for everybody, so whether you’re brand new and never worked out before, I want to have a facility that they can walk into and say this is my fitness home and spark that love and passion that I have for fitness in them. But also at the same time, provide an environment for those die hards who do it every day and they feel like this is the place they want to be.”

The couple plans to provide all kinds of fitness equipment, including free weights, bands, plate loading, heavy weights, olympic bars and more.

Jordan says if the budget allows, they also hope to have an indoor track.

They hope to open Gym Nation by October and Jordan said they are looking forward to getting to know the community.
