Oriole Drive Shooting Solved

Two suspects allegedly involved in an early morning shooting in January have been detained by the Toccoa Police Department.

Isiah Wall and Shawn Mayfield, both of Toccoa, were charged with aggravated assault after shooting Dennis Bradley Cromer, 38, of Martin, in the hand on the morning of Jan. 19.

Toccoa’s Interim Police Chief Jimmy Mize told WNEG News about how they were able to make the arrests.

“Through our investigation we were able to track down the two individuals based on the descriptions we received, and also the victim identified both subjects,” Mize said.

During the investigation, it was determined that Cromer was meeting the two men for a drug sale and was shot after the transaction.

The meeting and shooting took place on Oriole Drive.

Cromer drove himself to the Exxon Station, located at the intersection of Big A Road and Collins Road.

During the investigation it was discovered that the handgun used was stolen.

However, Mize and his officers have yet to locate the handgun used during the assault.
