A Martin resident is reporting a theft to the Stephens County Sheriff’s Office.

According to a report on file, a deputy responded to River Ridge Road on Saturday, where a man told the deputy that his Moped was stolen last week. The report states that the theft is believed to have occurred between March 10 and 14. The Moped is valued at an estimated $1,000.

Elsewhere, the Sheriff’s Office responded to Poplar Circle in Toccoa on March 14 in reference to a reported burglary. The report states that sometime on that day, numerous items were taken, including jewelry, electronics, and firearms. A total of about $1,450 worth of items were reportedly taken.

The incidents remain under investigation.

Meanwhile, the Toccoa Police Department says it arrested an Eastanollee man on a drug charge after a traffic stop.

According to a report on file, an officer was operating radar last Wednesday on Rose Lane when he caught a driver doing 50 miles per hour in a school zone. The report states that after the officer pulled the car over, the driver, Michael Brandon Blanchard of Eastanollee, was found to be in possession of cocaine.

Police say he was arrested for possession of cocaine and driving on a suspended license.
