Power Outage To Affect City Hall, Schaefer Center This Weekend

A scheduled power outage will affect the Schaefer Center and Toccoa City Hall in downtown Toccoa this weekend.

The outage will take place on Saturday and Sunday, beginning around 8 a.m. until late in the day.

City officials said the outage will take place in order for Georgia Power to move power lines in front of the Schaefer Center in order to make room for the installation of the new, historic Schaefer Center marquee later this year.

Officials added that they would like to remind customers and citizens that after hours and on-call personnel for water, wastewater, natural gas, and public works can be dispatched by calling 911.

The same is true for the Toccoa Police and Fire Departments.

According to city officials, they have been told that the only two buildings that will be affected are the Schaefer Center and Toccoa City Hall.
