Royston Police Department catches those who pass fake prescriptions

Royston Police Chief Donnie Boleman has reported a break in the case and search for a fugitive wanted in connection to a string of phony prescriptions being passed.

According to Boleman, three individuals are now in custody and a warrant has been issued for the arrest of a fourth suspect.

The cases involved four prescriptions passed in Royston on September 15 using fake Lighthouse Family Medicine prescriptions and one prescription passed in Royston on September 22 using Hartwell Family Practice prescriptions.

Prescriptions were passed at Rite Aid, Medicap, Royston Drug Store and Community Care Pharmacy.

An alert had been placed for Kadisha Isreal last week.

After several days of searching, Israel was located in the Atlanta area, arrested and brought back to Franklin County where she faces four counts of unauthorized distribution of a controlled substance stemming from the September 15 incidents.

Royston Police investigator Chris Shehee told WNEG News last week, that they were actively seeking Israel.

Toccoa Police Chief Tim Jarrell believed that Israel might be the woman who had previously passed fake prescriptions in Toccoa.

Jarrell was unavailable to provide additional comments regarding if Israel was in fact the suspect the police department were searching for.

Another suspect, Christopher Brathwaite, is also wanted in connection to the same case as Israel.

Kelvin Blackshear and Angela Garner were both arrested and charged with one count of unauthorized distribution of a controlled substance in reference to the September 22 incident.

Garner was arrested at the scene and Blackshear’s vehicle was stopped by a Franklin County deputy a short time later.
