School Board Extends Dorsey

Stephens County School Superintendent Bryan Dorsey’s contract has been extended. At Tuesday’s meeting of the Stephens County Board of Education, the board voted unanimously to extend Dorsey’s contract.

Dorsey was hired in 2014, and this new contract will expire in 2020.

Dorsey was thankful for the board’s approval.

Dorsey told WNEG that over the next three years his goal is to continue to help students succeed.

During Dorsey’s time as School Superintendent, he has oversaw the transition of the school system becoming a charter system.

This allows for students to acquire more soft skills, have agency over their education and to better serve the community.
