SCHS Basketball Swept At North Oconee

The Stephens County Indian boys come up just short and drop their second straight region game.

A couple of late three-pointers from Canaan McCloud propelled North Oconee to a 54-51 win on Friday night in Bogart.

Micah Oglesby’s tying three-point attempt went in, but did so after the buzzer sounded, giving the Titans the victory.

Jack Chambers scored 18 points and Matthew Quint added 16 points for North Oconee.

Nunu Walker had 22 points to lead the Indians, while Deundra Singleton added 13 points.

The loss drops the Indians to 16-6 overall and 4-2 in the region.

In the girls’ game, North Oconee opened up a close game in the second half on the way to a 50-37 win.

Camryn Williams had 14 points to lead the Lady Titans.

Kentasia Trimier led the Lady Indians with 15 points, with Mya Cleveland scoring nine and Tykia Thompson adding seven points.

With the loss, the Lady Indians drop to 7-15 overall and 2-4 in the region.

Stephens County High School basketball returns to action on Tuesday in Oakwood against Johnson of Gainesville.

The girls’ game will tip-off at 6 p.m. with the boys’ game to follow.
