SCHS Softball Moves to 4-0 to Start Season

Stephens County High School softball keeps its winning streak alive to start the season.

Monday, the Lady Indians defeated Habersham Central at the Reservation in Toccoa by a score of 10-2 in six innings.

Emma Whitfield pitched a complete game for the win, scattering 7 hits while allowing 2 runs and striking out 6.

Kayley Sellers led the Indians at the plate, hitting a three-run homerun in the first inning and adding a two-run single in the fourth inning to give her 5 RBI’s for the game.

Karly Smith also went 2 for 4 with a double and a triple and an RBI and Natalie Morgan had another good night, going 3 for 4 with 2 RBI’s.

Monday’s win puts the Lady Indians’ record at 4-0 to start the season.

Their next game is today at home against rival Franklin County.

The JV team will play at 4 p.m. and the varsity will play at 5:30 p.m.
