SCHS Tennis Sweeps Monroe Area

Stephens County High School tennis picks up a region sweep.

Thursday, the Indian and Lady Indian tennis teams hosted Region 8-AAAA foe Monroe Area.

The Lady Indians won by a match score of 2-1.

Winning matches for the Lady Indians were senior Kasey Crunkleton and doubles team of Hannah Pruitt and Kylee Maynard.

The girls team got its first region victory of the season and the girls’ overall record is 3-7.

Meanwhile, the Indian boys won by a shutout score of 5-0.

The boys’ team swept all 3 singles matches and both doubles contests.

Winning for the Indians were Ben Smith, Brayden Shiflet, and Noah Heaton at singles.

The doubles teams of Troy Broska and Carson Keener won at #1 doubles and the #2 tandem of Levi Dodd and Trey Williams capped the shutout with a win.

The boys’ region record is now 2-4 and their overall record stands at 3-7.
