Shooting in Toccoa Leaves Victim in Emergency Surgery

More details are out on the shooting in Toccoa that occurred this morning.

Police Chief Tim Jarrell says that at approximately 6:30 this morning, the Toccoa Police Department received reports that someone had been shot at 614 South Pond Street.

According to Jarrell, the victim was a 54-year-old white female.

“When officers arrived, they discovered a 54-year-old white female who was a victim of gun shot wounds,” said Jarrell. “She was transported by Stephens County EMS to Northeast GA Medical Center where she’s currently undergoing emergency surgery.”

The Toccoa Police Department requested the assistance of the Georgia Bureau of Investigation and the GBI Crime Scene Unit.

Jarrell said they are not releasing information on the suspect at this time but there is no concern for public alarm.
