State Investigating Lavonia Arson Case

Georgia Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner Ralph Hudgens and the Hart County Sheriff’s Office are investigating an intentionally set fire that destroyed a Lavonia home last week.

Hudgens’ office said the fire was reported Thursday at around 7:35 a.m. at the home on 281 Bow Drive.

According to Hudgens, the fire was deliberately set.

He said damage to the home was estimated to be $100,000.

Rewards of up to $10,000 are given for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of an arsonist, and callers may choose to remain anonymous.
