Stephens Co. BOE To Meet Tonight

school system officesThe Stephens County Board of Education will meet later today for a regularly scheduled meeting.

During today’s meeting, the school board may consider adding more days back into the 2015-2016 school calendar in the second semester.

Stephens County School Superintendent Bryan Dorsey said he feels comfortable recommending that pending some final numbers on state funding that he was finalizing last week.

“If the numbers are there, I can say with no reservation that you have an option to consider adding back at least two days to the second semester,” said Dorsey.

Dorsey said that he feels the financial numbers are where he wanted them to be at this point.

“Things are looking very good,” said Dorsey. “I feel like we have been hitting every financial target we have been looking at.”

Today’s Board of Education meeting begins at 5:30 p.m. in the administrative offices for the Stephens County School System on Mize Road.

Today’s Board of Education meeting is open to the public.
