Stephens Co. Commission Meeting Today

Stephens County Commissioners will hold their second November meeting later today.

The county commission will meet at 5:30 p.m. today in the second-floor courtroom of the historic Stephens County Courthouse in downtown Toccoa.

Commissioners will start at 5:30 p.m. with a work session to discuss items on the business meeting agenda.

The business meeting, where agenda items are voted on as needed, will follow immediately after the end of the work session.

Items on today’s meeting agenda for Stephens County Commissioners include consideration of a request from the Mountain Judicial Circuit Public Defender’s Office to add an additional attorney’s position, consideration of payments towards the remaining balance for the Lake Yonah Fire/Rescue Boat Major Repairs, consideration of an ambulance award, and consideration of a motion to abandon part of Camp Mikell Road from the creek without a bridge and beyond.

Today’s Stephens County Commission meeting also allows time for public comment.
