Stephens Co. Planning Commission Approves Requests

The Stephens County Planning Commission held its regular meeting Tuesday night in the courtroom of the historic Stephens County Courthouse.

Among the items the Planning Commission approved was the rezoning request from Timmy Thompson on Ridgeland Road in Eastanollee to rezone a little over three acres from Agricultural Intensive to Agricultural Residential, the request to construct new poultry houses on Davis Road and South Yow Mill Road in Toccoa, to allow a home based beauty salon business in a residential single family district on Walker Road in Toccoa and variance requests from Crossroads Missionary Baptist Church on Whispering Pines Drive in Toccoa.

The Planning Commission did not take action on the conditional use and variance request from United Renewable Energy, LLC to construct another Solar Farm for generation of electricity.
The approved requests by the Planning Commission will now go before the Stephens County Commission to meet their approval at Tuesday’s meeting.
