Stephens Co. Sheriff’s Investigators Make Drug Arrests

Stephens County Sheriff Randy Shirley reports several recent drug arrests.

On July 13th, investigators served a search warrant at 147 Old Jarrett’s Mill Rd in Toccoa.

According to Sheriff Shirley, investigators had been watching the residence based on information received that illegal drugs, specifically marijuana, were being sold at the residence.

“Investigators gathered enough intelligence and other evidence that enabled them to obtain a search warrant for the residence,” said Shirley. “During the execution of the warrant, a narcotics K9 was deployed and gave positive sign where illegal drugs  may be stored. Investigators recovered marijuana, packaging materials, digital scales and multiple firearms.”

Two people were arrested at the scene, including Undrayus Laboon, 26 of Toccoa, and Joe Harrison, 48 of Toccoa.

Laboon was charged with Possession of Marijuana with intent to distribute and Possession of a firearm during the commission of certain felonies and Harrison was charged with Possession of Marijuana with intent to distribute, Possession of a firearm during the commission of certain felonies, and three counts of Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon.

Both Laboon and Harrison were transported to Stephens County Jail.

In another arrest on July 14th, investigators served a search warrant at 139 Lovell Circle in Toccoa.

According to Sheriff Shirley, investigators received anonymous tips that illegal drugs were being sold and used at that residence.

Shirley said that during the search, investigators found Methamphetamine, guns, and other drug paraphernalia, as well as two people who were found to have outstanding warrants for their arrest.

Gregory Carter, 24 of Commerce, and Lakwan Reevy, 25 of Athens, were both arrested on active warrants out of Clarke county. Malcolm Stephens, 25 of Toccoa and Brandy Viney, 36 of Toccoa were also arrested and charged with Possession of Methamphetamine and are currently being held on a $5,000 dollar bond at the Stephens County Jail.

Kevin Spencer, 26 of Toccoa, was also arrested and charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and is being held on a $5,000 dollar bond.

Sheriff Shirley said that the owner of this house was also issued a warning.

“My investigators also issued a written warning to the owner of the house since we had been there several times before that if illegal conduct and activity continues to occur there that we will charge her with disorderly house,” said Shirley.
