Stephens County Rolls in State Playoffs at Marist

The Stephens County Indians Boys Basketball team rolls in the first round of the AAAA State Playoffs winning big at Marist 58-44.

Deundre’ Singleton and Ty Nails led the Indians with 22 Points each. Nails was 13 for 13 at the free throw line.

Marist was led by John Traynor with 14 points

The Indians improve to 21-8 this season and will now advance to the second round at Sandy Creek, a 101-43 winner over Ridgeland. Game time to be announced.

Other teams from Region-8 advancing in the playoffs include St. Pius and Jefferson. Hart County also advanced in the AAA State Playoffs defeating East Hall 65-50, and Banks County advanced in the AA Playoffs defeating Coosa 67-51.

In the girls State tournament Jefferson, Madison County, and North Oconee advanced. Franklin County defeated Dawson County 56-35 to remain undefeated and move on in the AAA Playoffs, while Hart County fell 63-52 to East Hall. Banks County and Rabun County advanced in the AA Playoffs.
