Stephens County Students To Not Make-Up Missed Days

Stephens County students will not have to make up days missed for school closures from last week’s storm, as approved during Tuesday evenings Board of Education meeting.

Stephens County School Superintendent Bryan Dorsey says the days will not have to made up due to Georgia Governor Deal’s State of Emergency.

Stephens County students missed five consecutive days after the impact of Hurricane Irma came through last week.

With fallen trees and power outages across the county, the school system chose to protect the students, faculty and staff through temporarily closing the schools.

Dorsey expressed to WNEG that despite the days being excused, there is nothing good to come from missing classes.
