TFC Basketball Update

Senior forward Cam Williams scored 18 of his 25 points in the second half to lead the Toccoa Falls Screaming Eagles to a 79-73 victory over Trinity Baptist on Saturday night.

Toccoa Falls went 32-41 from the free throw line and overcame 22 turnovers to get the big conference win.

Connor Iverson added 17, and 12 different players scored for TFC.

The Screaming Eagles got their third straight win and moved to 6-9 overall.

In the women’s game, Toccoa Falls led 11-4 after the opening quarter, but Trinity Baptist used a 19-7 second quarter and went on to defeat TFC 68-58.

TFC guard Beth Brown made 6 3-pointers and led TFC with 20 points.

It was senior night for the TFC ladies and seniors Katie Calloway, Courtney Bechtold, and Cassidy Lang were honored between games.

With the loss, the TFC ladies fall to 3-13 on the season.

The TFC men will host Piedmont College on Tuesday at 7 P.M. before both the men’s and women’s teams travel to Pensacola Christian on Friday.

Elsewhere, Stephens County High School’s basketball games that were scheduled for this past Friday against Buford were re-scheduled for Thursday starting at 5 p.m. at home.

The Indians and Lady Indians are back in action on Tuesday at White County starting at 6 p.m. with the varsity girls’ game and the boys’ game to follow.

Air time Tuesday on AM 630 WNEG is set for 5:45 p.m.
