TFC Takes Two of Three in Weekend Baseball Action

The Toccoa Falls College baseball team is back at home for a scheduled doubleheader today after taking two of three games over the weekend.

The Eagles traveled to Hiwassee College in Tennessee on Friday and Saturday for three games.

TFC lost the first game 6-1, mustering only a solo home run from Josh Hill.

Toccoa Falls bounced back on Saturday, however, winning both games.

In the first game, Dylan Charles pitched a seven-inning complete game, allowing just one earned run and six hits, while striking out eight and walking only two in the Eagles’ 8-1 win.

Offensively, Jordan Couillard had two hits and three RBI’s for TFC in the first game.

Moving to the second game, starting pitcher Justin Key scattered two earned runs and six hits over five innings on the mound, while adding two hits and two RBIs at the plate as the Eagles won 12-2.

Will Patrick also had two RBI’s in the second game for the Eagles.

TFC is now 11-9 on the season.

They will host nearby rivals Emmanuel College for a doubleheader today at 1 and 3 p.m.

After today, Toccoa Falls will travel to Florida for a doubleheader hosted by region foes Clearwater Christian College on March 15.

While in Florida, TFC will also face Southeastern University on March 17 before returning to Toccoa.
